VR in Business: Using VR for Holiday Marketing

November 28, 2019

2020 is just around the corner and businesses have now entered into their “crunch time” period of the year. As we enter into the last week of November and head into the last month of Q4, businesses are pulling ideas and inspiration on how they can meet and exceed their business goals for 2019. And while the spotlight in this season may be shining on many B2C companies ramping up for the most chaotic retail season of the year, B2B businesses still have time to take their marketing material to the next level.

It’s no secret that mid to end of Q4 is one of the quieter seasons in the B2B world. Although you may experience a larger influx of “out of office” email replies than normal, this time of year can, in fact, present itself as an opportunity. While the majority of your clientele may be away vacationing with friends and family, now is the perfect time to show those staying in the office that your exceptional service isn’t seasonal.

Today we’ll be going through 3 ways you can use VR for holiday marketing to continue to grab the attention of those still in the office and to show your clients you care.

1. Creative and Eye-Catching CTA’s

While the numbers of views on your paid ads and landing pages may go down drastically, a prospect is still a prospect. Especially during this time of year, if someone is interested or seeking out your services, you must make every opportunity count.

If you are hosting any special promotions or seasonal deals, now is a great time to revamp your Call to Action (CTA) layout to make them more eye-catching. Most of the time, CTA buttons follow a brief description followed by a bright colored “Learn More” prompt. However, including an immersive experience is a great way to use VR for your holiday marketing campaigns.

For example, if you’re in the 3D visualization industry offering a limited-time offer, along with a small blurb and CTA button, embed a VR project to give prospects a sneak peek into your abilities. Not only does it show clearly your firm’s skills and expertise, but adding this special type of media to any page is exciting for those who may be seeking your services. Use this idea to capture your visitor’s attention on the company website, blog posts or landing pages.

Here’s what embedding your VR project can look like:

2. Holiday Greetings

Although it wouldn’t be the best use of time to send an extensive email campaign out during this time of year, don’t forget to show your clients you care by sending out a holiday greeting e-card!

Every business strives towards having outstanding customer service. Whether it be day-to-day operations or a stellar support team, making sure their client feels supported and having their needs being met is crucial in building a strong business-to-client relationship. So in this festive season, there is no better time to show your gratitude to your client’s continual support of your products and/or services.

Instead of opting to use the generic greeting cards or animated graphics, include a VR experience in your holiday greeting card for a special seasonal surprise. An easy and quick way to get the immersive content for your e-card is to use a 360 camera to capture a picture of your team or office space for a more personal touch. If you know how to operate a smartphone camera, you will have no problem knowing how to operate a 360 camera, which is why we recommend this option to those that may not have a 3D design background.

3. Immersive Socials

Ever since businesses have started their digital transformation, the majority have either created or revived their social media accounts. The social platforms have become a quick, convenient, and effective way to communicate and build a relationship with a wider audience.

Our last idea that will hopefully inspire you to use VR for holiday marketing materials this Thanksgiving/Christmas season is to share your immersive experiences on your social media accounts. Facebook has a robust platform that supports 360-photography natively, which means that anyone who lands on your Facebook page can immediately begin exploring your VR project. And while other social platforms either rely on 3rd party applications to showcase your stunning virtual experiences, there is always the option to share the link and redirect your followers to your VR experience.

While many may enjoy their vacation days doing activities, chances are once your clients or prospects retire for the night, they could be checking their social media accounts. To ensure that you still catch their attention out of the office, include an experience that gives them the opportunity to interact with your business.

Enjoy This Holiday Season Immersed!

We hope these ideas have given you a bit of inspiration on how you can turn this dip in traffic into a shining opportunity this festive season! Give your CTA’s, holiday greeting emails and social media accounts the boost it needs to continue attracting visitors and maintaining your relationship with current clients. Experience the power of VR this holiday season.
